Description

The Flutter Tech4Good Awards 2025 delivered in partnership with Beyond Sport is designed to support scalable, tech-driven solutions that increase physical activity and improve public health. Following a successful 2023 pilot, the 2025 Awards is being expanded with increased number of winners and a bespoke support package for those selected. Tech4Good sits at the intersection of technology, inclusion and community wellbeing. Importantly it is a global Awards for tech-for-good initiatives with limited barriers to entry.

Tech4Good Objectives 

  • Fund and support organisations and entrepreneurs with tech-based solutions to issues related to physical activity and sport. 

  • Assist them to reach more people through their solutions, ultimately achieving health-based and physical activity outcomes. 

  • Promote and celebrate innovative technological approaches to sustainable development with a focus on sport and physical activity.  

While the exact number of lives impacted by the 5 selected winners will depend on the Awards recipients, Tech4Good 2025 is aiming to reach around 20,982 people (an average of 4,197 per organisation selected). 

Focus Areas 

The Awards will take a broad approach to technological solutions to improving physical activity and health. That said, based on our experience with these types of solutions, we anticipate applications to be focused on areas including but by no means limited to:  

  • The digital transformation and readiness of physical activity practitioners and organisations.  

  • The development and scaling of open-source tools and solutions.  

  • The use of Artificial Intelligence to streamline access to physical activity. 

  • New tech-based sports equipment which increase ability to participate in physical activity. 

  • Technological solutions to improving physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities. 

  • Experimentation with emerging technologies such as blockchain technologies, virtual/augmented reality to promote physical activity. 

  • Solutions which utilize technology to improve both health and climate resilience. 

Eligibility

The Flutter Tech4Good Awards 2025 in partnership with Beyond Sport welcome submissions from organizations around the world* working with any sport or physical activity.

*Due to funding statutes, entries will not be accepted from UN Security Council sanctioned countries or OFX banned countries due to financial fraud risk, currently including Afghanistan, Belarus, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, North Korea, Republic of Congo, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen and Zimbabwe.

Webinars

Tech4Good is hosting 2 informational webinars during the application window. Each will be available at two times on the day to account for global time zones.  These sessions, hosted in English, will walk you through the application form, eligibility criteria, and scoring methodology, while offering practical tips to strengthen your submission. Winners Package 

Financial Support 

One first-place winner will receive £20,000 and four runners up will receive £10,000 in funding. 

Each winner will receive a graphic which can be used publicly on social media, email signatures, websites etc which recognises them as Tech4Good 2025 Awards winners. 

Capacity Building Support 

All five winners will be eligible for the capacity-building support. This package of support will setup the winners for sustainable success and organisational growth. We will build a draft support package prior to selection. Once the five winners are selected, we will survey them on their needs to ensure the package is tailored for them. The support package will be delivered once the winners have been selected and agreements signed. The capacity-building support will include:  

  • Beyond Sport facilitation of topics of interest which could include sport for social change delivery, organisational governance, policy development, marketing, fundraising, and monitoring and evaluation.   

  • Expert speakers from the worlds of tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship delivering interactive thematically relevant Webinars.  

  • Opportunities for winners to network, if desired, to learn best practice.  

  • Direct mentorship, if desired, from specifically selected leaders over the course of the support package to learn from those who understand their needs.  

  • Facilitated problem-solving workshops so winners can support each other to solve challenges they each face.  

All winners will become part of Beyond Sport’s global network receiving invitations for additional grant opportunities, awards, learning resources and connections to other groups and individuals using sport for social change.
